About the Owner

Jocelyn Mayo RN, BSN, MBA graduated from Frankford Hospital School of Nursing in 1995 with a Diploma in Nursing and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allegheny University (now part of Drexel University) in 1997. She obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare May 2012. Jocelyn has worked in various capacities as a registered nurse. She has held multiple positions including working as a bedside nurse in cardiac intensive care units, home care nurse, working as a Nurse Manager of a telemetry unit and Director of Clinical Services.

In 2002 Jocelyn Mayo took an entrepreneurial leap of faith and started her own non-medical home care company, Pampering Plus Inc. In 2008 Pampering Plus Inc. has expanded its scope of practice and applied for licensure from the Pennsylvania Department of Health to become a licensed health care facility. The license was awarded to Pampering Plus Inc. in September 2008. This license will allow Pampering Plus Inc. to provide registered nurses, physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist in the community to homebound individuals. Pampering Plus Inc. is also Medicare Certified. Jocelyn Mayo has also started a related entity Pampering Plus Nurse Aide Institute. As a direct result of recognizing the direct need for quality healthcare workers Pampering Plus Nurse Aide Institute applied for a post-secondary school license from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and was subsequently granted the license December 30, 2008. This program will allow Pampering Plus Nurse Aide Institute to train and educate individuals to become nurse assistants within a 4-6 week time frame thus placing them in the position to obtain employment.

Pampering Plus Inc. is a member of the Pennsylvania Home Care Association and is certified as a woman/minority owned business in the state of Pennsylvania. In October 2008 Pampering Plus Inc. was recognized by Wharton Small Business Development Center with an award “Philadelphia 100” which named Pampering Plus Inc. as one of the fastest growing, privately held companies in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Jocelyn has recently been recognized by Metro Philadelphia on their Power Women List for women leaders that are looking to advance female leadership in their fields.

Jocelyn Mayo is a successful businesswoman whose vision and possibilities are endless. She is also the recipient of winning the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Pennsylvania Chapter 2009 Madam C.J. Walker Award. Jocelyn is truly a unique mentor and role model for her employees and women in the community. Through the existence of Pampering Plus Inc. she has employed 1000's of individuals since opening her business. Jocelyn is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others and is an inspiration to many who have had the pleasure of knowing her.
